Two individuals arrested with 37 bags containing a crystalline narcotic substance in Salmiya

The Directorate of Security for Hawalli Governorate, represented by the Operations and Patrols Department, arrested two Sri Lankan nationals in the Salmiya area, in possession of 37 bags, each containing a crystalline narcotic substance.

The arrest took place while a security patrol was carrying out its duties in the area, where it spotted two individuals digging in a dirt lot. Upon approaching them to verify their activities, one of them attempted to flee, but security forces managed to subdue him and apprehend the other. A precautionary search of both individuals yielded the following:

• 27 bags in the possession of the first suspect

• 10 bags in the possession of the second suspect

• A total of 37 bags, each containing a crystalline narcotic substance.

The Ministry of Interior stated that both suspects and the seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against them.
