Washington Imposes Sanctions on Entire Iranian Aviation Sector

The United States has placed the entire Iranian aviation sector under sanctions, according to the French news agency AFP. The U.S. Treasury Department stated that “our new sanctions on Iran target one individual and 29 entities, including Iran’s airlines.” It added that it had “indefinitely suspended a license that had temporarily allowed the re-export of certain civilian aircraft to Iran.”
