Al-Badawi condemns the 'Houthi' terrorist attacks in southern Saudi Arabia: a criminal extremist approach

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, strongly and most severely condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi group against southern Saudi Arabia, which deliberately targeted civilians and the Kingdom’s national assets, facilities, and civilian infrastructure, resulting in casualties among the civilian population. This constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, and a deliberate disregard for the security and safety of civilians and regional stability.

Al-Budaiwi emphasized that these repeated attacks once again reveal the malicious intentions of the Houthi group and demonstrate their explicit rejection of all efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving peace and stability in the Republic of Yemen.

He stressed that targeting civilian facilities and national assets constitutes a condemnable act of terrorism that cannot be justified or tolerated under any pretext. The Houthi group’s continuation of such hostile practices represents a blatant challenge to the international community and a direct threat to regional and international peace and security. It underscores the necessity for the international community to adopt a firm and deterrent stance against these violations, hold perpetrators and their supporters accountable, and prevent the continuation of this terrorist behavior that threatens the region’s security and the interests of its peoples.

The Secretary-General reaffirmed the GCC states’ unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, standing united in support of the Kingdom in confronting any threats to its security, stability, sovereignty, and national assets. He expressed full support for all measures and steps taken by Saudi Arabia to protect its territory, citizens, and residents, and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.
