KIB organizes a specialized training course on Sukuk for staff of the General Authority for Palace Affairs

Kuwait International Bank (KIB) organized a specialized training course for staff of the Public Authority for Affairs of the Emir’s Court, titled “Practical Applications of Sukuk as an Islamic Product.” The course was delivered by Mohammed Al-Duwailah, General Manager of the Treasury Department at the bank, over two days, with the aim of enhancing participants’ knowledge of sukuk, deepening their understanding of their mechanisms, and illustrating their practical applications in the workplace and financial markets.
The course, presented by the bank on August 23 and 24, 2026, was organized as part of KIB’s comprehensive corporate social responsibility program and its commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to capacity building and professional development, particularly in specialized financial and banking fields.
The course covered a comprehensive set of theoretical and practical topics, starting with an introduction to the concept of sukuk, their types, and various structures, as well as the key differences between sukuk and conventional bonds. It proceeded to cover the mechanics of primary and secondary sukuk markets, types of returns and calculation mechanisms, and the factors influencing sukuk prices and their movement in financial markets.
Mohammed Al-Duwailah, General Manager of the Treasury Department at KIB, said: “At KIB, we are keen to share our specialized banking expertise to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and the development of professional competencies across various financial and banking fields. Through this course, we aimed to equip participants with specialized knowledge that enables a deeper understanding of sukuk and their role within the Islamic finance system.”
Al-Duwailah added: “Sukuk are gaining increasing importance within capital markets and Islamic finance. Therefore, we ensured that the course combined technical knowledge with practical application, helping participants understand the dynamics of sukuk markets, the factors affecting their pricing and returns, and how to leverage this knowledge in their professional environments.”
On her part, Aliya Al-Saqer, Acting General Manager of the Public Authority for Affairs of the Emir’s Court, said: “We appreciate KIB’s initiative in offering this specialized course, which provided our staff with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge of sukuk and gain a deeper understanding of their applications in financial markets.
