Major General Osama Rabie: Suez Canal Continues to Develop Its Navigational Services to Meet Client Requirements
Cairo – Nadeh Imam: Team Officer Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, affirmed that the Canal continues to develop its maritime services and strengthen its leadership through the ongoing development of the navigational channel and the modernization of the naval fleet belonging to its maritime units.
Team Officer Osama Rabie explained, during his meeting with Waqas Samad, Chief Executive Officer of Lloyd’s List Intelligence, that the Suez Canal prioritizes the interests and requirements of its clients, highlighting the Authority’s adoption of flexible marketing policies and the implementation of several initiatives supporting the green transition, in line with the International Maritime Organization’s directions to preserve the marine environment and reduce carbon emissions.
The visit by the CEO of Lloyd’s List Intelligence to the Suez Canal Authority, which marks the first of its kind, aimed to gain a close understanding of the Authority’s various activities and the maritime and logistical service system it provides to its clients.
Waqas Samad expressed his pride in this visit, which allowed him to closely observe the Suez Canal and its supportive role in ensuring the sustainability of global supply chains despite various challenges. He emphasized that the Suez Canal is a strategic and vital passage for global trade flowing between the East and the West.
He praised the Authority’s efforts in managing various challenges and crises, as well as its continuous communication with clients to ensure the continuity and efficiency of transit operations through the Canal. He also expressed his hope for the return of stability to the region and its positive impact on Canal navigation rates.
Following the meeting, Team Officer Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, accompanied the CEO of Lloyd’s List Intelligence on a maritime tour of the Canal, followed by visits to the Suez Canal Museum and the Maritime Training and Simulation Academy.
