Meteorology Authority: Hot and humid weather until next Thursday
The Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, stated that the country is experiencing hot and humid weather, which is reducing horizontal visibility due to fog and will continue until next Thursday. Al-Ali told KUNA that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is affected by an extension of the monsoon low-pressure system, accompanied by a hot and humid air mass, particularly in coastal areas. He clarified that this low-pressure system is causing continued humid conditions and reduced horizontal visibility in some areas, especially coastal regions, due to fog. He noted that winds will be variable to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 8 and 35 kilometers per hour. He added that the weather will generally be hot and humid during the day and hot to moderately hot and humid at night, particularly in coastal areas, with a chance of fog forming in some areas during the late night and early morning hours. He predicted an increase in low and medium clouds, with a possibility of scattered light rain in some areas. Regarding expected temperatures, Al-Ali said the high will range between 43 and 46 degrees Celsius, while the low will range between 29 and 32 degrees Celsius.
