Speaker of the Arab Parliament Condemns Israeli Racist Remarks on Displacing Palestinians: Reveals Systematic Project to Uproot the Palestinian People from Their Land

The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamahy, strongly condemned on Sunday the “racist and dangerous” statements issued by two ministers in the Israeli occupation government regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip, warning against turning these calls into official policy or practical measures.

In a statement, Al-Yamahy emphasized that these remarks, made by Defense Minister Israel Katz and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, clearly reveal a systematic project to uproot the Palestinian people from their land, liquidate their national cause, and impose a new demographic and geographic reality by force.

He considered the forced displacement of the Palestinian people to constitute a war crime, a crime against humanity, and a fully realized act of ethnic cleansing. He stressed that transforming these calls into official policy or practical measures necessitates immediate and deterrent international action, rather than merely issuing statements of condemnation and denunciation.

He stated that Gaza is not a land without a people, that the Palestinian people are not a people subject to expulsion, and that Palestine is not a land amenable to uprooting and confiscation, reiterating the Arab Parliament’s categorical rejection of any plans aimed at emptying the Gaza Strip of its residents or forcibly pushing them off their land under any pretext or guise.

He warned that the continued efforts by the occupation government to promote displacement plans, alongside settlement expansion, annexation, and the seizure of Palestinian lands, represent an overt attempt to redraw the map of Palestine by force and impose the occupation as a permanent reality, thereby threatening regional and international peace and security.

He called on the UN Security Council and the international community to assume their legal, political, and moral responsibilities and to take immediate and resolute action to thwart any plans to displace the Palestinian people or alter the demographic composition of the occupied Palestinian territory, and to adopt deterrent international measures against the Israeli occupation and those responsible for these calls and plans.

He condemned the international silence in the face of these calls, arguing that such silence does not represent neutrality but rather encourages the occupation to persist in its crimes and undermines the international legal system. He considered that any attempt to implement this plan would place the international community before a decisive test of its commitment to international law and its ability to halt crimes of displacement and ethnic cleansing.

He reaffirmed that the Arab Parliament will continue its regional and international efforts to expose displacement plans and mobilize international parliamentary support to defend the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
