Al-Imran reviews the squash schedule with the clubs

The Secretary-General of the Kuwait Squash Federation and Chairman of the Competitions Committee, Hamed Al-Omaran, held a coordination meeting with club representatives last Wednesday, attended by Competitions Committee member Abdulhadi Al-Aryan and 12 out of 14 clubs, to discuss arrangements for the 2026-2027 sports season.

Al-Omaran presented the season’s schedule, which begins on the 13th of this month and concludes on May 20, 2027. The season will kick off with the postponed Federation Cup from last season, lasting 12 days, immediately followed by the National Singles Championship.

The meeting saw several proposals raised, most notably the reopening of registration for foreign players after a four-year closure, allowing each club to register only one player born in Kuwait. Al-Omaran confirmed that he would forward the proposal to the Competitions Committee for discussion and study, with a view to submitting it to the Federation’s Board of Directors for an appropriate decision that serves the clubs and local competitions.

He noted that the Federation Cup draw will take place at the Federation headquarters later this week and will cover seven age categories, including the women’s category. Al-Omaran revealed that the new season will see the return of Kuwait Club’s women’s team to competitions after a two-season hiatus, adding strength and excitement to the tournament, especially since the “White” women’s team previously won both the league and cup titles in the first season of women’s competitions six years ago.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Omaran expressed his best wishes for success to all clubs and players, emphasizing that the goal is to deliver a season full of competition and excitement, while elevating the technical level of local competitions, thereby contributing to the discovery and development of more talents capable of representing Kuwaiti squash honorably in upcoming events.
