Contractor accuses citizen of extortion, assault, and stealing 500 dinars in Sabah Al-Nasser

An investigator from the Sabah Al-Nasser Police Station summoned a citizen in his fifties on suspicion of extortion, theft, and assault against a migrant worker employed as a contractor. The complainant confirmed that there were no witnesses to the incident and that everything occurred inside the defendant’s diwaniya (gathering place).

According to a security source, the contractor, who is of Arab nationality, stated that he had agreed with the defendant to carry out construction work, which he completed as requested. He was then surprised by a phone call from the other party, who asked him to meet to discuss matters related to his work.

He added: “I was surprised when the defendant assaulted me and extorted me, threatening to harm my job prospects with other employers. He then stole two bank cards and 500 dinars that were in my wallet,” according to his claim.

A case has been registered and referred to the Criminal Investigation Department to complete the investigation and forward it to the competent public prosecution.
