Video: Smuggling of 43.5 kg of 'tobacco' thwarted inside vehicle decorations

The General Directorate of Customs, represented by the Nueibis Border Crossing Customs Department, thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of materials suspected to be derivatives of “chewing tobacco,” after discovering them concealed inside a vehicle arriving in the country through the crossing.

Customs stated that the chewing tobacco was hidden in 61 bags weighing a total of 43.5 kilograms, tightly concealed within the vehicle’s rear decorations in an effort to evade the scrutiny of customs inspectors. It added that the quantity was seized and secured, and that the prescribed customs and legal procedures were initiated against the vehicle’s driver.
