Minister of Youth and Sports Honors Youth in Various Sports and Scientific Fields

The Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, honored a number of Kuwaiti youth across various sports and scientific fields who have raised Kuwait’s name at international forums. The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, in the presence of the honorees’ parents and supervisors.

In a statement on this occasion, Minister Al-Jalahma emphasized the Authority’s commitment to continuing its support for Kuwaiti youth in diverse sports and scientific domains, and to providing a suitable environment for refining their skills and motivating them to achieve further successes that reflect Kuwait’s bright image on the international stage.

He clarified that this recognition aligns with the Authority’s dedication to nurturing and encouraging national talents, while also underscoring the family’s role in supporting Kuwaiti youth’s journey toward greater achievements in upcoming challenges.

The honors included the accomplishments of the Kuwait national table tennis team, which won multiple medals at the West Asia Women’s Championship held in Jordan, as well as the World Strength Championship in South Africa, where the national team secured an honorable silver medal for Kuwait. Additionally, achievements of the Kuwait national bowling team were recognized, which shone at Asian championships by winning a variety of medals that enhanced Kuwait’s standing in the sport.

On the scientific front, students from the Ministry of Education who participated in the International Earth Science Olympiad held in Turin, Italy, were celebrated for their achievements. They won eight scientific medals, further strengthening Kuwait’s position in global academic forums.
