Ministry of Education receives its teachers today, students resume studies on the 13th
Alaa Khalifa: The Ministry of Education received, on Sunday morning, the 6th of the current month, members of the teaching and administrative staff in various schools and educational stages, marking the official launch of the 2026/2027 academic year, after months of preparations and arrangements witnessed by the ministry’s sectors, educational areas, and schools in readiness to welcome students.
The start of work hours covers all employees in kindergartens and various educational stages, alongside technical advisors and laboratory supervisors. The first days of the return will be dedicated to completing administrative, technical, and educational preparations, and putting the final touches on school readiness before welcoming students.
An educational source revealed to Al-Anbaa that the return of male and female teachers to the educational field coincides with the Ministry of Education’s ongoing efforts to complete schools’ needs for teaching staff, alongside implementing the electronic transfer movement for teachers and administrative staff, according to actual needs and available vacancies in schools, thereby contributing to stability in the educational field at the start of the new academic year.
The ministry has been working during the recent period to prepare schools, follow up on maintenance works, and prepare facilities and educational equipment, in addition to providing the necessary human resources for the field. Previous media reports indicated the appointment of approximately 2,440 Kuwaiti teachers as part of preparations to provide teaching staff for the new academic year.
The first-grade primary students’ work hours are scheduled to begin on Sunday, the 13th of the current month, while students of other primary grades and the middle and secondary stages will resume classes on Monday, the 14th. Kindergarten children will begin their work hours on Wednesday, the 16th.
The Ministry of Education has also recently approved the official and flexible work hours for members of the teaching and administrative staff in general education schools, Arab private education schools, religious education schools, and special education schools, as part of organizing work procedures and ensuring the continuity of the educational process from the first days of the academic year.
With teachers returning to their schools, the educational field enters a countdown phase to welcome hundreds of thousands of students, amid monitoring of school readiness and the completion of teaching and administrative staff, paving the way for the launch of a new academic year that the Ministry of Education hopes will witness stability and continuity from the first day.
It is worth noting that the first days of teachers’ work hours will witness a series of organizational and technical procedures within schools, including completing the distribution of teaching staff into classrooms, determining workloads and schedules, as well as identifying actual needs and vacancies in various specialties and reporting them to the relevant educational administrations for resolution before students resume classes.
