Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) concluded the activities of its summer programs and the training and job rotation program dedicated to the children of its employees, in line with its ongoing commitment to enhancing employee and family welfare, strengthening communication with them, and meeting their aspirations. These efforts contribute to boosting loyalty and raising productivity levels, while affirming the bank’s position as one of the preferred employers in the banking sector.
This year, ABK sought to expand the scope of its summer programs for employees’ children by increasing the number and variety of programs to suit different age groups, providing them with educational and recreational experiences that combine skill development and talent discovery in an inspiring and interactive environment.
The programs included the “Young Innovators Camp,” in collaboration with the Australian University in Kuwait, for children aged 8 to 12. Designed to inspire children and develop their capabilities in innovation, design, and problem-solving, the camp featured interactive innovation labs, design challenges, creative projects, and competitions that helped participants turn their ideas into practical solutions in an engaging manner.
The programs also featured the “Public Speaking and Future Skills Camp,” also in collaboration with the Australian University in Kuwait, for participants aged 12 to 16. Aimed at developing public speaking, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills within a supportive and motivating educational environment, the camp involved a variety of interactive activities, including storytelling, acting, presentations, debates, and group projects.
The summer programs also included several recreational trips and activities to various destinations, witnessing widespread participation and notable engagement from employees’ children, who benefited from the diverse events and activities organized throughout the program period.
In its effort to provide a practical experience for older employees’ children, the bank allowed youth aged 16 and 17 to participate in the training and job rotation program. This initiative covered several bank departments, aiming to familiarize participants with the banking work environment, hone their skills, and develop their practical and personal capabilities.
The program included interactive sessions and daily workshops with various bank executives, enabling participants to understand the nature of work in the banking sector and benefit from the expertise of specialists. It also helped them acquire a set of skills that prepare them for their future professional careers.
The program concluded with a special ceremony attended by Afrah Al-Arbash, Director of Human Resources Management, and several bank executives. Participants presented the key experiences and skills they had acquired during the training period, along with a range of ideas, proposals, services, and solutions that the bank could develop and offer to its clients in the future.
The ceremony witnessed praise for the outstanding performance demonstrated by the trainees and the ideas they presented, which reflected their ability to think creatively, analyze customer needs, and propose innovative solutions that keep pace with developments in the banking sector.
On this occasion, Afrah Al-Arbash stated, “The children of our employees are an integral part of our family. Our investment in developing their skills and building their capabilities is an extension of our commitment to providing a motivating work environment that contributes to raising productivity levels among our human resources.”
She added, “We witnessed great passion and promising talents among participants in our diverse programs. Our goal was not merely to fill leisure time, but to shape their personalities and equip them with future skills, including the use of smart tools, critical thinking, and teamwork. Seeing this passion in the eyes of our employees’ children and the smiles on the faces of our team confirms that investing in employee and family welfare is one of the key drivers for enhancing loyalty within the bank.”
Al-Arbash clarified that the training and job rotation program allowed participants to gain practical experience in several bank departments over a three-week period, familiarizing them with the mechanisms and requirements of work in the banking sector. This contributes to building their personalities, enhancing their expertise, and helping them prepare for their future professional careers.
She continued, “Our message from this initiative is to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to our employees by providing real added value to their families. This reflects the Human Resources Management’s dedication to achieving a balance between enhancing employee welfare and supporting family stability, while delivering advanced content that aligns with the latest practices in the banking sector and underscores the bank’s continuous commitment to innovation in talent management and efficient employee care.”
Concluding her remarks, Al-Arbash said, “These initiatives are not merely temporary training programs; they represent a genuine investment in our human capital. This stems from our belief that stability and professional success begin with caring for and supporting the employee and their family, leaving a tangible and sustainable impact on everyone’s lives.”
