Kuwait officials revealed that trading on the Kuwait Stock Exchange during the past week demonstrated a continuation of the momentum and activity characterizing the market, with clear increases in circulating liquidity, trading volumes, and the number of transactions.
The figures reflect the main market’s capture of a significant share of activity, driven by strong rises in the value of trades, the number of shares, and transactions. A substantial portion of this activity coincided with the review of MSCI indices conducted during the week, which helped boost liquidity and trading flows, alongside sustained investor interest in stocks and an increase in investment position-building.
Trading activity confirms that the market still enjoys healthy levels of activity, particularly as total liquidity rose, approaching half a billion dinars within a single week. This reflects investors’ continued appetite and the Kuwait Stock Exchange’s ability to attract and circulate liquidity across various market segments. The divergence in performance between the First Market and the Main Market indicates diversified sources of activity within the exchange. While the First Market maintained strong liquidity and transaction levels, the Main Market recorded notable jumps in trading volumes, liquidity, and transactions, reflecting a broadening of investment interest and confirming that activity is not limited solely to leading stocks.
The persistence of these positive indicators strengthens the prospects for momentum to remain present in the coming period, especially as investors continue to monitor developments related to listed companies and their financial results, alongside liquidity flows and investment trends across various stocks.
Trading data showed that the volume of shares traded in the general market rose by 25.23%, equivalent to 368.5 million shares, bringing the total number of shares traded to 1.828 billion, compared to 1.46 billion at the end of the previous week’s trading.
The value of circulating liquidity in the general market increased by 18.87%, adding 73.448 million dinars to reach 462.53 million dinars during the current week, compared to 389.09 million dinars in the previous week, reflecting a noticeable improvement in investment activity levels and the entry of new liquidity into the market.
The number of executed transactions rose by 22%, an increase of 23,506 transactions, bringing the total to 129,979 transactions, compared to 106,473 in the previous week, confirming the broadening of the activity base and increased trading movement in listed stocks.
The performance of the First Market demonstrated its continued strong presence in the investment landscape. Circulating liquidity in this market rose by 6.78%, valued at 15.29 million dinars, reaching 240.8 million dinars during the past week, compared to 225.5 million dinars in the previous week. Additionally, the number of transactions in the First Market increased by 3.7%, adding 1,702 transactions to reach 47,348 transactions, compared to 45,646 at the end of the previous week.
