Interior Ministry: Four suspects arrested for importing and possessing narcotics with intent to traffic

The Ministry of Interior announced that the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration for Combating Narcotics, in coordination with the General Administration of Customs, arrested three suspects for importing narcotics and psychoactive substances from abroad through a land border crossing with the intent to traffic them.

In a statement, the ministry said the arrest of the three suspects followed intelligence indicating that two of them had brought the drugs into the country. Immediate action was taken to apprehend them upon their entry, revealing that they had concealed the narcotics inside a vehicle they had brought in, deliberately hiding them to evade detection by customs inspectors.

When confronted with the seized items, the suspects confessed to importing them, with the aim of delivering them to a third suspect, who was subsequently arrested. Investigations revealed that the three suspects had been in contact with an individual outside the country to arrange the handover and transportation.

The ministry confirmed that coordination had been established with security authorities abroad to continue investigations into all parties involved in the case.

The seized items in this case consisted of 300 Captagon tablets, 150 grams of cocaine, 150 A4 sheets saturated with narcotics, 10 grams of hashish, and a sensitive scale.

The Ministry of Interior also mentioned a separate case in which the International Combating Administration arrested a suspect in possession of narcotics for trafficking purposes. The seized items in this incident included 90 A4 sheets saturated with narcotics, 10 chemical ampoules, 30 grams of shabu, and a sensitive scale.
