Egyptian President and Saudi Crown Prince stress the necessity of de-escalation to safeguard regional security and stability
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held talks with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, on bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen them, as well as a number of regional and international issues. Both sides emphasized the necessity of de-escalating current regional tensions to preserve peace, security, and stability in the region.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, stated in a press release that this discussion took place during a phone call received by President el-Sisi from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The presidential spokesperson clarified that during the call, President el-Sisi stressed the importance of continuing to advance and enhance various aspects of bilateral cooperation, in order to serve shared interests and meet the aspirations of the two countries and their brotherly peoples for development, prosperity, and improvement of conditions in the region.
El-Sisi underscored the shared destiny between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to overcome the challenges facing the region and its countries. He reiterated that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all Arab states is an extension of Egypt’s national security.
The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency noted that His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in turn, affirmed the fraternal and historical ties binding the two brotherly countries. He praised the progress witnessed in Egypt-Saudi relations, commending the close coordination between them to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East region and to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for progress and prosperity. He also stressed the importance of intensifying coordination between the two countries in various fields, including high-level visits.
