Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and outrage at the repeated, reprehensible Iranian attacks on the sister state of Kuwait using missiles and drones.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and security, a serious breach of the rules of international law, the UN Charter, and principles of good neighborliness, and a flagrant violation of Security Council Resolution 2817, thereby undermining de-escalation efforts and threatening regional security and stability.
The Ministry emphasized Bahrain’s full solidarity with the sister state of Kuwait and its complete support for all measures Kuwait takes to defend its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect its citizens and residents on its territory, in accordance with international law and Article 51 of the UN Charter. It underscored that the security of Kuwait is an integral part of Bahrain’s national security, while commending the competence and high readiness of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces and air defenses in countering hostile attacks.
The Ministry renewed Bahrain’s call on the Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and take firm, deterrent measures to compel Iran to comply with its obligations under international law, resolutions, and international understandings, to halt its attacks on the countries and peaceful peoples of the region, and to ensure the security and safety of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and other vital waterways, while preventing piracy, thereby contributing to the enhancement of regional and international security, peace, and stability.
