Kuwait: Repeated Iranian attacks constitute an aggressive approach and a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strongest condemnation and denunciation of the repeated, heinous Iranian attacks on the country, the latest of which occurred at dawn today. These attacks constitute a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, a direct threat to its security and stability, and a danger to the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory. They also represent a serious breach of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.

The Ministry reaffirmed that the continuation of these brazen attacks reflects an hostile approach, constitutes a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region, and represents a systematic undermining of diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and reducing tensions.

The Ministry emphasized that the State of Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its security, and defend its territory and vital installations against any aggression or threat, based on its inherent right to self-defense, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and the rules of international law.
