Minister of Education Honors Students Who Won the Earth Sciences Olympiad in Recognition of Their Achievement

Alaa Khalifa: Minister of Education, Dr. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaee, received in his office at the Ministry’s General Secretariat in South Sura the Kuwaiti students who won at the International Earth Science Olympiad held in Turin, Italy, in the presence of several Ministry officials. He honored the students and their supervisors to appreciate the distinguished results they achieved and to elevate Kuwait’s name at international scientific forums.

The winning student delegation included Talal Ahmed Al-Mutairi, Ghaliya Nasser Al-Anzi, Narjes Hani Sabti, and Kawthar Ammar Al-Qattan, along with the team’s supervisors, Geology Supervisor Abdullah Al-Maqasid and Geology Supervisor Noura Al-Wanda.

Minister of Education Dr. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaee emphasized that the scientific excellence embodied by our student sons is a badge of honor for Kuwait, and the medals they won are a culmination of their effort, perseverance, and scientific capabilities, serving as a source of pride for their outstanding performance in an international competition that brought together a select group of students from various countries around the world. He noted that honoring them today reflects a firm reality: Kuwait has always been, and remains, a cradle of the distinguished and creative, brimming with the promising talents and minds of its children, capable of competing and achieving, and raising the nation’s name at international forums.

Al-Tabtabaee added that the Ministry views these achievements as a motivation to continue investing in the capabilities of gifted and outstanding students, working to discover their talents early and refine them through specialized training programs and scientific participation, thereby contributing to preparing a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for the future.

The Minister also praised the efforts of the team supervisors, appreciating their follow-up, training, and preparation of the students, and emphasizing that achieving these results is the product of integrated cooperation among students, their families, supervisors, and educational entities, serving as an example of the importance of coordinated efforts in supporting student excellence.

He further affirmed that the Ministry of Education will continue to support students with talents and scientific capabilities, providing them with opportunities to participate in international forums and competitions, thereby enhancing Kuwait’s presence in scientific fields and consolidating a culture of excellence and innovation among students.

He pointed out that the Gifted Students Office constitutes a fundamental pillar in the Ministry’s system for caring for gifted and outstanding students, through discovering their talents, following up on their progress, and providing comprehensive support, assistance, and care, while working to develop their capabilities and prepare them to participate in local and international scientific competitions, with special attention given to students participating in international forums and those who have achieved advanced positions and medals, ensuring the sustainability of their care and investment in their excellence, and continuing to develop their capabilities to enable them to achieve further accomplishments and elevate Kuwait’s name at international forums.
