Juventus lose Thuram until January
Italian club Juventus have lost the services of their French midfielder Khephren Thuram until at least January 2027, as he is set to undergo knee surgery today, according to several Italian reports. Thuram will undergo the procedure due to a knee condition medically known as patellofemoral pain syndrome, which he has been suffering from since the end of last season. Earlier this week, Thuram visited his compatriot and knee specialist Bertrand Sonnier Cote in Lyon, and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sport Mediaset, the specialist recommended surgery for the 25-year-old player. La Gazzetta dello Sport clarified that the surgery aims to treat cartilage wear covering the back of the kneecap and will be performed arthroscopically. According to the reports, Thuram will be sidelined for four months and is expected to return to play in January 2027.
