Ministry of Commerce Announces Activation of Complaints Service for E-Platforms and Applications

Tariq Araabi: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced, in conjunction with the commencement of the implementation of Ministerial Decision No. (109) of 2026, the activation of a service for submitting complaints related to transactions between customers and providers of electronic platforms and applications. This initiative aims to regulate the relationship between the parties and expedite the resolution of complaints in accordance with approved procedures.

The Ministry stated via its website that the complaints service will be available through the Commercial Control Portal at http://ccas.moci.gov.kw, where the competent committee will examine complaints and disputes arising between customers and service providers of electronic platforms and applications.

It is worth noting that Ministerial Decision No. 109 of 2026 was issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to establish the regulatory framework for the operations of intermediary electronic applications and platforms that display, request, and deliver products to consumers. The decision aims to regulate the digital market, protect fair competition, govern the relationship between delivery companies, retailers, and consumers, enhance the quality of delivery services, and safeguard the rights of all parties involved.
