Kuwait condemns Iran's heinous attack on the Saudi tanker "Sadara": a direct threat to maritime navigation security

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and strong denunciation of the heinous Iranian attack targeting the Saudi tanker “Sadr” as it transited the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in fatalities among the tanker’s crew. This act constitutes a blatant violation of international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and poses a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and to global energy supplies.
The Ministry emphasized the need for an immediate cessation of all escalatory actions and adherence to the rules of international law that guarantee freedom of navigation, reaffirming Kuwait’s rejection of any attack on the security and safety of maritime navigation.
The Ministry reiterated Kuwait’s full solidarity with its sister state, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its standing alongside it, and its support for all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its security and interests.
