Minister of Education Approves Update of the Educational Calendar to Align with Latest Educational Developments
The Ministry of Education has approved new updates to the academic calendar for the upcoming academic years, aligning with organizational developments in the educational system and enhancing the readiness of the educational field for academic and examination commitments.
Education Minister Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabatabai issued a decision to amend the academic calendar for the academic years 2026/2027, 2027/2028, 2028/2029, and 2029/2030, covering general education schools, religious education, adult education, literacy programs, special education schools, and private Arabic schools, in accordance with the details specified in the attachments to the ministerial decision issued for this purpose.
The Ministry of Education clarified that these new amendments are part of ongoing efforts to update and organize the academic calendar in line with recent changes to educational regulations and systems, ensuring clarity of dates and commitments for school administrations, teaching staff, parents, and students.
The Ministry noted that the amendments include the addition of examination dates for the fourth and fifth grades, in accordance with recent approvals under the new comprehensive regulatory framework for education. This aims to unify and organize assessment and testing procedures, thereby enhancing the smooth flow of the educational process throughout the academic year.
The Ministry emphasized that the revision of the academic calendar is part of its efforts to align academic schedules and dates with new organizational requirements, enabling schools to prepare early for various stages of the academic year and associated educational commitments.
The Ministry also confirmed that the decision provides a clear timeline for the upcoming academic years, supporting advance planning by school administrations and educational staff, enhancing the stability of the educational process, and offering students and parents a clearer picture of academic and examination schedules.
It indicated that the decision takes effect from the date of its issuance, and relevant authorities are required to be informed and implement it, with all previous decisions conflicting with it being repealed.
The Ministry called on relevant parties in the educational field to comply with the decision and its attachments, and to implement the amendments according to the approved schedules and dates, ensuring the smooth operation of the educational process and achieving the desired organizational objectives.
