Saudi National Shipping Company announces the death of two crew members aboard one of its tankers following a security incident in the Strait of Hormuz

The Saudi National Marine Transport Company (Bahri) announced the death of two Filipino sailors aboard its tanker, Sidr, following a security incident as the vessel transited the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the company said the tanker Sidr (IMO 9854715) was involved in the incident around 23:40 local time on Monday.

The company expressed its deep sorrow and regret over the deaths of the Filipino sailors, offering its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to their families, relatives, and colleagues in this tragic loss.

It affirmed that it is providing full support to the families and colleagues of the deceased, noting that it maintains continuous contact with the vessel and is closely coordinating with relevant authorities and stakeholders in the maritime sector while closely monitoring developments.
