The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of the renewed Iranian attacks using missiles and drones that targeted Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and Jordan. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered this a blatant violation of the sovereignty of states and a direct threat to the lives of civilians, as well as a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability, in contravention of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817. Bahrain reaffirmed its full solidarity with the targeted countries and its support for their right to take all lawful measures to defend their sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect citizens and residents on their territories, in accordance with the provisions of international law and Article 51 of the UN Charter. It praised the efficiency and vigilance of the Bahrain Defence Force, the Kuwaiti Armed Forces and air defences, and Jordanian air defences in repelling these attacks and protecting civilians. The Ministry renewed Bahrain’s call on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities and take deterrent measures to compel Iran to immediately and fully cease its aggressive actions and repeated violations, and to work on the principles of good neighbourliness and to ensure the security of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and other waterways. It also pointed out the necessity of holding Iran fully accountable under international law and the UN Charter, which would contribute to de-escalation and to consolidating regional security, stability, and peace.
