Educational source to Al-Anbaa: Postponement of new teachers' appointments for two weeks... Educational bodies resume work on Sunday

Alaa Khalifa: An educational source told Al-Anbaa that the Ministry of Education has postponed the appointment of new teachers, drawn from graduates of the College of Education at Kuwait University and the Basic Education College at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, for two weeks. These graduates had been notified in May last year of their nomination for employment with the Ministry of Education and were scheduled to receive their appointment decisions and begin their duties at the start of the academic year on September 1. However, they received a response from the Ministry postponing their appointments by an additional two weeks.

The source noted that the postponement decision comes at a notable time, especially with the start of the academic staff’s work schedule approaching on Sunday, September 6. This has raised questions about how the delay in appointing the new graduates might affect the schools’ ability to meet their staffing needs as the new academic year begins.

The source explained that the graduates had expected to start their duties at the beginning of the academic year, particularly after approximately four months had passed since their nomination for appointment and their waiting for the completion of the necessary administrative procedures. However, the postponement extends their waiting period beyond the start of the teachers’ work schedule.

The source concluded by stating that the coming days would reveal the date for completing the appointment procedures and for the graduates to begin working in schools, as the Ministry of Education prepares to welcome the new academic year and ensure that schools have the required teaching staff.
