Ministry of Education: Finalizes decisions on teacher transfers and provision of supervisory staff and positions

Alaa Khalifa: The Ministry of Education is nearing the closure of files related to the new academic year, ahead of the anticipated announcement of employment decisions. Current efforts are focused on a wide range of issues, including staffing the teaching and administrative bodies, finalizing transfer decisions, and completing procedures for supervisory positions before the start of classes.

A source familiar with educational affairs told "Al-Anbaa" that completing the appointment of members of the teaching and administrative bodies is one of the Ministry’s primary agenda items, particularly given its direct link to schedule stability and the absence of shortages in various specializations.

The source indicated that the Ministry is currently working diligently to finalize numerous employment-related files, including issuing transfer decisions for male and female teachers and announcing staffing needs for non-Kuwaiti nationals in educational specializations, with priority given to fields suffering from a shortage of personnel.

The source stated that the file concerning teacher transfers is among those closely monitored by professionals in the educational field, especially with the start of the academic year approaching. Relevant departments within the Ministry are currently issuing transfer decisions for teaching staff, concurrently with completing procedures to fill vacant supervisory posts. Decisions are expected to be issued by the end of August. Finalizing these decisions represents a crucial step in stabilizing the organizational structure of schools, allowing school administrations to arrange work schedules and distribute tasks before students arrive.

Regarding supervisory positions, the source noted that the Ministry has made significant progress in this file, continuing to complete procedures for filling educational supervisory roles. The Ministry had previously announced the commencement of interviews for department heads as part of its plan to complete the staffing of supervisory positions and support the educational field with qualified national cadres.

The preparation plan for the academic year also included forming specialized committees for supervisory positions in general education and special education. These positions include school principal, assistant principal, technical supervisor, guidance inspector, department head, and section head.

Completing these procedures is expected to contribute to the stability of the supervisory structure in schools and educational districts, particularly as the upcoming phase requires fully empowered school and technical leaders with complete authorities and responsibilities from the beginning of the year.

The source added that as the start of the academic year approaches, the Ministry faces a cluster of files that the educational field awaits to be resolved. These include, in particular:

First: Filling any remaining vacancies in the teaching and administrative bodies.

Second: Issuing transfer decisions for teachers and stabilizing work centers.

Third: Completing procedures to fill vacant supervisory positions.

Fourth: Carrying out maintenance work, including air conditioning and refrigeration units, and addressing urgent observations.

Fifth: Ensuring the delivery of school textbooks to schools according to distribution plans.

Sixth: Equipping new schools with furniture, services, and technical systems.

Seventh: Verifying the readiness of internet networks, computers, and electronic systems.

Eighth: Ensuring the uninterrupted continuity of cleaning, security, catering, transportation, and handling services.

Ninth: Addressing any shortages in teacher numbers or specializations before classes resume.

Tenth: Enhancing coordination between the Ministry, educational districts, and school administrations during the first days of the academic year.
