Justice Ministry Reorganizes Court Circuits and Begins Transferring Some of Them Starting in September and October

The Ministry of Justice announced the adoption of several regulatory measures concerning the transfer of certain judicial departments among the governorate courts, as part of organizing case registration procedures and in implementation of Advisory Councilor, Deputy President of the Supreme Court’s Decisions No. 44 and No. 45 of 2026 regarding the relocation of the headquarters of several cases and departments.

The measures include transferring all general labor departments from the governorate courts to the Jahra Court effective October 1, 2026, with the suspension of registration of new labor cases, and resuming their registration at their new headquarters at the Jahra Court effective September 1, 2026.

It was also decided to transfer all general civil departments from the Farwaniya Court to the Hawalli Court effective October 1, 2026, with the suspension of registration of new general civil cases at the Farwaniya Court and the commencement of their registration at the Hawalli Court effective September 1, 2026.

The measures also include transferring the Farwaniya and Jahra/1 appellate rental department from the Jahra Court to the Farwaniya Court, along with the transfer of several misdemeanor, municipal and environmental violations, cybercrime, commercial, and customs departments among the Jahra, Farwaniya, and Hawalli courts, effective October 1, 2026.

The Ministry of Justice emphasized that these measures are part of organizing and developing judicial work procedures, and achieving greater fluidity in the distribution of departments and jurisdictions, thereby contributing to the regularity of the registration process and the smooth operation of the courts. It called upon observers and department heads to take the necessary measures to implement the decisions according to the specified deadlines.
