First Deputy Minister Reviews Development Plans, AI Applications, and Efforts to Enhance the Performance of Criminal Evidence Units

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, conducted an inspection visit to the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence to review operational progress, performance levels, and key technical and technological developments, as part of his commitment to monitoring and enhancing the work system across various sectors of the Ministry of Interior.

He was received by the Head of the Criminal Security Affairs Sector, Brigadier General Fahad Mohammed Al-Badr, the Director General of the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence, Brigadier General Abdulrahim Mohammed Al-Awadi, and his deputy, Brigadier General Mubarak Badr Al-Risha, along with several department directors and their assistants.

During the visit, and according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, Sheikh Al-Yousef listened to a welcoming address in which the Director General of the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence outlined the directorate’s plans and aspirations to continue development and elevate work standards. He also viewed a visual presentation on the role of artificial intelligence in the criminal justice field and its applications in identity verification and forgery detection.

He also conducted a tour of several departments and laboratories, where he reviewed the nature of operations, procedural mechanisms, and the specialized technical services provided by the directorate.

At the conclusion of the visit, the First Deputy Prime Minister issued a number of directives supporting the ongoing development and performance enhancement efforts, aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, improving result accuracy, and bolstering the overall security system.
