Sisi: Necessity of continuous efforts to develop the civil aviation system

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met yesterday with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister; Dr. Samah al-Hafni, Minister of Civil Aviation; and Major General Ahmed al-Shazly, Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the meeting focused on monitoring the development of the civil aviation system. In this context, the Minister of Civil Aviation presented the components of the aviation system’s development, including ongoing works to update airport infrastructure, increase their capacity, and improve the level of services provided to passengers. The Minister also outlined the Ministry’s future activity plan, noting that continuous investment in updating and expanding the capacity of Egyptian airports aims to meet the requirements of the state’s comprehensive development, keep pace with the steady growth in global tourism and travel, and consolidate Egypt’s status and its distinguished geographical location.
In this regard, the President emphasized the necessity of continuous work to develop the civil aviation system by updating airport infrastructure, enhancing service efficiency, and reinforcing the highest standards of safety and security, thereby contributing to increasing the regional and international competitiveness of Egyptian airports, while strengthening private sector participation in their management and operation.
Ambassador Al-Shenawy clarified that the meeting also reviewed the strategic vision and the executive status of the project to construct Terminal 4 at Cairo International Airport. Dr. Samah al-Hafni noted that the project aims to build a new terminal with an annual capacity of approximately 40 million passengers, representing a qualitative leap in Cairo Airport’s capacity and supporting the state’s objective of transforming Egypt into a major regional hub for aviation, transport, and logistics. He added that the project relies on the latest global concepts in airport design and operation, through the application of artificial intelligence technologies and digital transformation, and the development of a smart and sustainable operational system that elevates the quality of services provided to travelers and improves operational efficiency, while adhering to the highest environmental sustainability standards.
He mentioned that the President directed that the new terminal be built according to the highest global standards in terms of design, technology, sustainability, and operational efficiency, to make it one of the distinguished international models for new airports. President al-Sisi also directed strengthening strategic partnerships to attract more foreign direct investment in the civil aviation sector, through the creation of integrated investment zones around Egyptian airports. President al-Sisi stressed the necessity of monitoring any complaints regarding service quality at various airports and addressing them seriously and promptly, thereby contributing to improving the travel experience and enhancing passenger confidence.
