Syrian Army Completes Installation of Floating Bridge Connecting Both Banks of the Euphrates East of Deir ez-Zor

The Syrian Arab Army, in coordination with its Turkish counterpart, has completed the installation of a new floating military bridge connecting the two banks of the Euphrates River in the Al-Mayadin area east of Deir ez-Zor, with the aim of reactivating crossing traffic between the banks and alleviating the burden on local residents.

Defense Minister Major General Marhaf Abu Qasra stated via the “X” platform: “Our units, in cooperation with the Turkish Army, have completed the installation of the new floating military bridge linking the two banks of the Euphrates in Al-Mayadin, in order to ease the burdens on our people in Deir ez-Zor Governorate,” according to the Syrian official news agency SANA, which reported the statement yesterday.

Abu Qasra expressed his gratitude to his Turkish counterpart, General Yaşar Güler, for his strenuous efforts to enhance trust and cooperation between the two countries.

Earlier, in February, the Syrian Arab Army had erected a temporary metal bridge connecting the two banks of the Euphrates River at the boundary between the towns of Al-Mari’iya and Murat in Deir ez-Zor, aiming to alleviate residents’ suffering by ensuring safe and rapid movement between the riverbanks.
