Two individuals arrested with a "carton of liquor," claiming they purchased it for personal use

Two individuals were referred to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics by security personnel in the Hawalli Governorate after they were caught in possession of a carton of imported alcohol inside their vehicle. The two claimed that they had purchased the seized items for personal consumption and intended to transport them to an apartment they rent in the governorate.

A security source stated that officers had set up a checkpoint in the Hawalli Governorate area, where they became suspicious of a vehicle carrying two individuals. Noticing signs of nervousness on their part, the officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a search, discovering a carton of imported alcohol inside.

The source added that the two individuals stated they had bought the alcohol for personal use and to take it to their apartment, but they failed to specify the source of their purchase to the officers. This omission raised suspicions regarding the true purpose of their possession. They were subsequently referred to the Narcotics Combating Department for further investigation and inquiries to determine whether the possession was for personal consumption or for another purpose.
