An extensive traffic campaign carried out by the General Directorate of Traffic, represented by all its field departments, resulted in the issuance of 2,756 traffic violations, including 243 violations of overtaking rules and regulations, 940 violations for obstructing traffic flow, 1,508 violations for failing to signal when turning, and 35 violations for speeding.

The campaign included taking legal action against violators, such as impounding 232 vehicles in the impound lot, placing five violators under preventive detention, referring two minors to the Juvenile Court, and apprehending and handing over 14 wanted individuals and three wanted vehicles to the competent authorities.

These measures are part of intensified oversight of traffic violations and behaviors that pose a risk to road users, particularly speeding, illegal overtaking, and deliberate obstruction of traffic flow. Under the Traffic Regulations, vehicles involved in violations subject to impoundment may be impounded for a period not exceeding two months. Additionally, repeated violations of overtaking rules or deliberate obstruction of traffic flow result in the violator being referred to the competent Traffic Court.

The campaign featured intensive field deployment of mobile traffic patrols on several roads, with high speeds monitored using radar devices, violations recorded, and appropriate legal actions taken against offenders, thereby contributing to enhanced road safety and reducing accidents caused by speeding and improper driving practices.

The campaign was conducted under the supervision of the Head of the Traffic and Operations Sector, Brigadier General Ahmed Fahad Al-Azmi, and led by the Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic, Brigadier General Rashid Hamoud Al-Hajeri, and the Assistant Director General for Traffic Regulation Affairs, Colonel Ayoub Ghazi Fathallah.
