Ministry of Food: Facility seized for trading spoiled food and relabeling frozen meat as fresh in Kuwait City

Nada Abu Nasr: The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, represented by the Inspection Department of the Capital Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Capital Governorate Security Directorate, seized a food establishment that committed several serious violations, including the circulation of spoiled and non-compliant food products, thawing frozen meat to sell it as fresh, as well as violations related to general hygiene, licenses, and health certificates for workers.

The campaign resulted in the issuance of 10 violation reports, the closure of the establishment, and the destruction of non-compliant food materials totaling 134.116 kilograms, as part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to protect consumer health and ensure the safety of food circulating in the markets.

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, represented by the Inspection Department of the Farwaniya Governorate, conducted inspection rounds on several food establishments, as part of its continuous supervisory efforts to ensure compliance with health requirements and the safety of food products in circulation.

The rounds resulted in the destruction of 88 kilograms of meat of unknown origin, along with the issuance of 10 violation reports, which varied between the circulation of adulterated food, staying or sleeping inside the establishment (except for establishments designated by competent authorities), and failure to adhere to general hygiene rules and requirements during work.

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition reaffirms its continuation of inspection and supervisory rounds on food establishments and the taking of necessary legal measures against violators, ensuring the application of health requirements and the safety of food products in circulation, in order to safeguard the health and safety of consumers.
