Minister of Social Affairs Discusses with Lebanese Ambassador Strengthening Cooperation in Social and Humanitarian Fields

Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila held talks with Ghadi Al-Khouri, the Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic to the State of Kuwait, to explore ways of strengthening bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries, particularly in social and humanitarian fields.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Social Affairs said the meeting addressed prospects for developing institutional cooperation frameworks and coordinating on joint protocols and agreements in social affairs, thereby contributing to the exchange of expertise and experiences and the development of programs and services provided to beneficiary groups.

It added that the two sides discussed areas of cooperation in caring for the elderly and supporting and empowering persons with disabilities, as well as leveraging exchanged experiences and expertise to develop the social care system and enhance social integration and community participation.

The statement clarified that the meeting also touched upon ways to strengthen cooperation between charitable associations and public benefit institutions in both countries, and to support joint humanitarian and social initiatives, reflecting the depth of the fraternal and historical ties between the State of Kuwait and the Lebanese Republic.

The statement conveyed Minister Al-Huwaila’s emphasis on the importance of continuing coordination and working to translate proposed areas of cooperation into practical programs and initiatives that serve common interests and enhance social and humanitarian efforts in both countries.
