Yasser Al-Ayila: The delay in releasing the song “Fiik Abtadi” was not an obstacle for the young singer Nora Al-Alaf; rather, it evolved over time into an opportunity to add more artistic touches that gave the work greater distinctiveness, marking a new phase in her musical career. This development coincided with her stage successes and her preparation for a major artistic surprise that, in her words, represents a significant leap toward broader horizons beyond the Gulf region.

Nora Al-Alaf recently released her latest musical work, “Fiik Abtadi,” a single written by Hamza Mohsen, composed by Thaer Hazim, arranged by Louay Amer, and mixed and mastered by Suhail Al-Awadi, under the production of “Muzik Al-Hanin.”

Speaking to Al-Anbaa about the song’s background, Nora said, “We have been working on this song for over a year and a half. It was recorded in Qatar at ‘Sout Al-Matar’ Studio, under the direction of Maestro Mattar Ali Al-Kuwari. We were supposed to release it two months after recording, but each time we decided to launch it, circumstances and events in the region caused delays.”

She added that she had planned to shoot a music video for the song in Erbil or Turkey, but her commitments to theatrical performances in “The Maestro” alongside star D. Tariq Al-Ali, along with her concert schedule, prevented the idea from being realized. Consequently, they ultimately decided to present the song through a lyric video.

Nora felt that the delay contained blessings for the project, explaining, “Glory be to God, every delay gave us the chance to add elements that strengthened the song further, including the idea of incorporating a Kuwaiti touch. We enlisted the distinguished artist Suhail Al-Awadi to handle the mixing and mastering. He is, incidentally, someone who owes me a great debt of gratitude, as he is the one who discovered me as a singer.”

Regarding the public’s reaction, she said, “Praise be to God, it was very positive. I received calls from prominent composers, all of whom congratulated me and expressed their admiration for the song.”

On her recent musical works, Nora indicated her commitment to releasing two different musical styles each year. She noted that she recently released a patriotic song titled “Ramz Al-Balad” (Symbol of the Country), composed by Aya Ibrahim with lyrics and arrangement by Abdullah Al-Omani. This was alongside the song “Ya Bo Khadoud,” sung in the Egyptian dialect, with lyrics by Yousef Al-Sudani, composition by Osama Naji, and arrangement by Louay Amer. She filmed the latter in Erbil, Iraq, with director Soran Ali Sharif, expressing her satisfaction with the success achieved by both works.

She revealed that she had recently finished recording a new song titled “An Ghaibak” (About Your Absence) in Qatar, describing it as a classic song with a winter atmosphere.

Regarding her recent experience in the play “The Maestro,” Nora said, “It was a very sweet and enjoyable experience, especially the duet I performed with star Shaban Abbas. He is a talented artist and a beautiful, beloved figure.”

She added that the production team experienced a distinctive family atmosphere during the performances, praising the warmth and attention everyone received. She emphasized that such an environment is not unusual at D. Tariq Al-Ali’s theater, but this year it was “even more pronounced.”

She also expressed her happiness about her first Gulf tour through “The Maestro,” which included performances in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Dubai. Through Al-Anbaa, she wished to commend the high-level treatment shown by artist D. Tariq Al-Ali to the theater team as a whole, and to her specifically. He granted her freedom on stage to perform at her best, and she thanked him for this support and encouragement.

On the drama front, Nora announced that she had recently finished filming the series “Kul Yom Salifa” (Every Day Has Its Story), written and produced by Adel Al-Zahed and directed by Abdullah Al-Turkmani. The series stars a group of prominent actors, including Ahmed Al-Awani, Shahab Hajja, Latifa Al-Majrun, Shaima Qambar, and others.
