Al-Otaibi: Kuwaiti shooting continues to harvest international achievements

Kuwaiti shooters continue to achieve remarkable feats on the global stage, after shooter Talal Al-Rashidi secured first place in the “Trap” event at the Grand Prix, organized by the Italian Shooting Federation. The competition featured 740 shooters from various countries.

In a press statement, Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi, President of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations and head of the national team delegation participating in the championship, expressed his delight at this achievement. He said, “Our shooters have proven day by day that they are up to the responsibility and capable of overcoming difficulties and achieving what the people of Kuwait aspire to.”

Al-Otaibi clarified that the national team concluded its participation successfully in the Grand Prix for clay pigeon shooting, known as “Nando Rossi,” held in Italy in recent days. This participation followed a training camp as part of the preparation plan for the Asian Games, which will take place in Japan next September, alongside preparations for upcoming international competitions and championships.

He added that the championship organized by the Italian Shooting Federation saw the participation of 740 shooters, during which Kuwaiti shooters excelled, with Talal Al-Rashidi securing first place. Al-Rashidi was honored by Senator Luciano, President of the International Shooting Sport Federation, in the presence of the head and members of the Kuwaiti national team delegation. He was also honored by the Italian firearms manufacturer Beretta.

Al-Otaibi praised the performance and level of the champion shooters in the championship, noting that it comes after the resumption of sports activities following long periods of suspension. He emphasized that such achievements do not come from nowhere, but rather from the effort exerted by shooters in preparation and training, alongside sound planning and cooperation between the technical and administrative staff, as well as the unlimited support provided by the board of directors to the shooters, technicians, and coaches.
