Kuwait officials announced that Al-Kuwait Club has signed Cameroonian defender Omar Gonzalez to bolster the first-team squad. Gonzalez previously played for French club Ajaccio and Saudi club Al-Raed in his last stints, and has earned nine caps for the Cameroon national team. The Kuwaiti administration officially parted ways with Brazilian Carlos Vinicius after mutually terminating his contract, enabling the registration of the new foreign player, Gonzalez. Vinicius featured as a substitute in the first match of the new season against Al-Arabi last week, which ended in a 3-3 draw. The player failed to impress the technical staff led by Syrian coach Firas Al-Khatib. Vinicius, who plays as a defensive midfielder, was signed in July and had been with the Kuwaiti team during its training camp in London, the UK capital.
