Al-Nasr continues its remarkable form by surpassing Al-Fahaheel

Al-Nasr continued its impressive form as it defeated visitors Al-Fahaheel 2-1 at Ali Al-Sabah Stadium on Sunday evening, marking the start of the second round of the Zain Premier League.

The “Canaries” moved up to six points from a perfect start in their first two matches, while the “Reds of the Tenth” remained winless.

Al-Nasr dominated the first half thanks to their players’ dynamic movement and a solid defense that neutralized Al-Fahaheel’s key attacking threats. The “Canaries” took the lead in the fifth minute when Algerian striker Ayman Lakkach scored from a penalty kick. Al-Fahaheel tried to respond through their active Cape Verdean international Elvin Fortes, who fired a shot over the bar in their most significant chance of the half in the 21st minute. Defender Mohamed Al-Farsi also had a chance for the “Reds of the Tenth,” but his effort in the 43rd minute narrowly missed the Al-Nasr goal. The first half ended with Al-Nasr leading 1-0.

In the second half, the “Canaries” doubled their lead in the 46th minute when Tunisian striker Hazem Al-Haj Hassan scored past Al-Fahaheel goalkeeper Ali Fadel. Al-Fahaheel reduced the deficit in the 68th minute through a beautiful direct free-kick executed by Brazilian player Vitor Da Silva, which curled into the left side of Al-Nasr goalkeeper Khaled Al-Ajaji’s net.

Al-Fahaheel pressed hard to equalize afterward but failed to do so. Al-Nasr had a golden opportunity to extend their lead in the 83rd minute when Eid Al-Raqba found himself with a clear chance to score a third goal, but his weak shot was easily saved by Al-Fahaheel goalkeeper Ali Fadel.

The match was refereed by Youssef Nasar, whose decisions were sound throughout.
