Petroleum's Targets Through 2040
The strategic directions of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation aim to achieve and sustain a crude oil production capacity of 4 million barrels per day in Kuwait, including the Divided Zone, by 2035, maintaining this level through 2040, while simultaneously increasing the sustainable production capacity of associated gas to 2 billion cubic feet per day by 2040. In refining and manufacturing, the Corporation targets a maximum domestic refining capacity of 1.6 million barrels per day, maximizing the off-take of Kuwaiti heavy crudes, meeting local energy needs, enhancing integration between refining and petrochemicals, and building refining capacity outside Kuwait to off-take 425,000 barrels per day of Kuwaiti crudes into promising markets. Furthermore, the Corporation aims to expand its petrochemical activities within and outside Kuwait to reach 14.5 million tons annually by 2040, alongside expanding downstream manufacturing industries linked to key intermediate petrochemical products.
