Global accreditation of the Urology Unit at Al-Amiri Hospital as an 'Excellence Center' by the American College of Surgeons
The Urology Department at Al-Amiri Hospital has been accredited as a Center of Excellence in Urological Surgery by the U.S.-based Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), an organization specializing in the evaluation and improvement of the quality and safety of surgical care. This accreditation represents international recognition of the department’s competence and excellence, confirming its compliance with the institution’s standards and requirements in care quality, patient safety, and surgical practice efficiency, thereby strengthening its standing among leading health centers in this specialty.
Dr. Areej Al-Kandari, Director of Al-Amiri Hospital, emphasized that this accreditation is the result of integrated efforts by the hospital’s medical, nursing, technical, and administrative staff, reflecting a continuous commitment to enhancing service quality and operational efficiency. She noted that international accreditations serve as a catalyst for ongoing development and maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety in patient care.
For his part, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Turki, Head of the Urology Department, explained that achieving the “Center of Excellence” designation resulted from sustained efforts to implement evidence-based medical practices, develop protocols and treatment pathways, monitor quality indicators and clinical outcomes, and prioritize continuous education and training, all of which contribute to providing comprehensive, safe, and effective care for urology patients.
This achievement underscores the department’s commitment to applying the highest standards of quality and patient safety, strengthening the continuous improvement system, and developing specialized practices and services in line with global standards.
