"Criminal Investigation" Discovers Intentional Murder Attempted to Be Concealed by Arson in One of Al-Salmiyah's Shops

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration of Criminal Investigations (Al-Jahra Governorate Criminal Investigations Department), successfully unraveled the mystery surrounding a fire and death inside a “jakhra” (a traditional Kuwaiti houseboat) in the Salma area, and apprehended the suspect, a Bangladeshi national, after investigations confirmed the incident was a deliberate murder.

A report had been received by the operations room stating that a fire had broken out inside the jakhur and that a person was found dead. Upon arrival and inspection, a charred body belonging to a Gulf national was discovered, and traces of blood were found inside the vehicle, raising suspicions that a murder had preceded the fire.

Search and investigative efforts led to the discovery of clothing and personal belongings belonging to the victim, along with indicators suggesting attempts to erase evidence of the crime. As information was gathered and the threads of the incident traced, suspicion fell on the jakhur’s caretaker.

The suspect was apprehended and confronted with the findings of the investigation. He confessed to committing the crime following a dispute with the victim. He explained that he assaulted the victim with a wooden stick, then moved him to the feed storage area inside the jakhur and set fire to the site with the intent to take his life and conceal the crime. He also attempted to remove bloodstains and dispose of some of the victim’s belongings.

Appropriate legal measures have been taken against the suspect, who has been referred to the competent authorities. The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed that its security agencies will continue their efforts to uncover the details of cases and apprehend perpetrators, and will firmly confront anyone who attempts to undermine the security and safety of society, bringing them to justice.
