Bowling Shines at Asian Junior Championship

Kuwait’s national junior bowling team successfully secured several medals and proudly raised the national flag at the Asian Championships held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Player Sharifa Iskandar won the gold medal in the Masters event, while the national team claimed third place and the bronze medal in the youth doubles competition through the pair of Hussein Qasim and Fahad Al-Saqqabi. Sharifa Iskandar also finished second, earning the silver medal in the individual event.

For his part, Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad, President of both the Kuwaiti and International Bowling Federations, expressed his great joy at this achievement, which came after extensive efforts and persistent endeavors that culminated in success under the guidance of the wise political leadership, which emphasized the need to continue working and contributing to achieve further sporting accomplishments that bear Kuwait’s name.

Al-Mohammad clarified that the significant efforts made in recent periods, along with the strong focus on nurturing young talent, had achieved the desired goal at the Asian level. He added that the board of directors of the Bowling Club is working with a strong team spirit, following a comprehensive and clearly defined plan aimed at advancing the sport and elevating its status at continental and international forums.

Al-Mohammad extended his congratulations to the participating players, technical and administrative staff of the junior bowling national team, and the players’ parents, who provided the necessary moral support to their children during the recent period. He stated that the championship witnessed fierce competition, and that Kuwaiti athletes demonstrated a high level of awareness and determination to achieve distinctive accomplishments that reflect positively on Kuwait.

He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all those who supported and assisted the national team in achieving this success, as well as to the Public Authority for Sports for its continuous support and efforts to overcome all obstacles facing bowling and sports in general. He hoped that the coming period would witness further achievements that contribute to raising Kuwait’s flag high in international sporting arenas.
