Tareq Al-Nafisi: I am participating in 'Sands 3' and 'Destructed House'... and 'The Room is Black' in cinema

Tarif Al-Nafisi continues his presence in a number of new dramatic and cinematic works, which range between comedy, tragedy, and complex roles. He is participating in three series: “Sundus 3.”

In a statement to Al-Anbaa, Al-Nafisi said, “I portray the character of Talal in the third part of ‘Sundus,’ a character with a serious demeanor within the comedic framework of this work, which I consider an important addition to my career.”

He added, “I also have the series ‘Bayt Hadam,’ a tragic work directed by Saeed Al-Marouq, written by novelist Bathina Al-Aissa, and produced by Shasha. It is currently in the filming stage, and I am participating alongside a group of stars. I hinted that I portray a complex character with multiple dimensions, prompting viewers to question his true nature and actions.”

Al-Nafisi continued, “In a different experience, I am participating in the series ‘Al-Ashq Majdan,’ which blends tragedy and comedy. Directed by Jawdat Marjan and produced by MBC, it will be broadcast in the near future. It features an elite of Saudi drama stars, including Abdullah Al-Sudhan, Abdulilah Al-Sinani, Mohammed Al-Shahrani, Mila Al-Zahrani, and other artists. I play a role with a fierce character, continuing a pattern of roles I have become accustomed to portraying in several of my works, albeit with different dramatic circumstances for each character.”

He added, “In addition to these dramatic works, I am participating in the film ‘The Room Is Black,’ which I have finished filming. It is directed by Mike Drank and produced by Netflix. In it, I appear as the character ‘Psycho,’ a figure with a complex psychological nature, relying on intensely portraying the evil side.”

Regarding his turn toward villainous roles, Tarif Al-Nafisi affirmed that he always seeks the ability to extract the evil within himself and employ it artistically to serve the character and the work. This makes complex roles an important space for him to test his skills as an actor.
