Tonight: "Arab Stars Sing in Love for Kuwait" at Jaber Cultural Center

Kuwait officials: With the attendance of Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar, Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, and Aisha Al-Mahmoud, Assistant Secretary-General for Cultural Affairs, the Drama Theater at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center will host tonight the musical evening “Arab Stars Singing in Love for Kuwait,” conducted by Maestro Dr. Mohammed Al-Buainain and featuring Adel Al-Mas, Abdulaziz Al-Musabah, and Saud Al-Faiz. They will perform a selection of songs that Arab singers have dedicated to Kuwait, including works by Umm Kulthum, Abdel Halim Hafez, Afaf Rashed, and Farid Al-Atrash, encompassing both patriotic and romantic pieces.

What distinguishes this evening is that it does not treat the past as mere archive, but rather offers it a new opportunity to connect with today’s audience. Some songs tied to specific historical periods remain capable of stirring memory and evoking images, names, and experiences that people lived alongside those voices.

The value of the evening lies in the fact that when a song is sincere, it does not end with its era; it remains in collective memory and continually finds new interpreters who present it with fresh spirit, especially when it is linked to an emotional bond between the Arab artist and Kuwait. The evening serves as a memorable finale to the “Cultural Summer 18” festival, which has entertained Kuwaitis and residents alike through diverse artistic forms, providing spaces for recreation away from the hustle of daily life since its launch on May 5 under the slogan “With Culture, We Return Stronger.”
