9 Radio Dramas Compete in the 26th Edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival

Kuwait Radio is participating with nine works in the 26th edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, which will take place in the sister Republic of Tunisia from September 21 to 24 next year, specifically in the city of Hammamet. The festival is held under the theme “Space of Encounter and Creativity,” aiming to contribute to the development and enhancement of Arab radio and television production to meet the aspirations of member organizations and the principles they uphold, as well as to identify and encourage innovative and serious trends in Arab radio and television production, thereby fostering Arab creative capacities in this field.

Kuwait Radio will compete in the festival’s official radio competitions with nine works produced specifically for this edition. The programs include: “A Poet Without Feelings,” prepared and presented by Saud Fiad and Ahmed Al-Bahr, and directed by Al-Amiri, in the category of cultural programs and contemporary Arabic literature; “Inspiring Success Stories in Self-Development,” a motivational program featuring an episode on the late Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sumait titled “Doctor of Hope,” prepared by Hala Al-Dosari with a cast of actors and directed by Mohammed Jamal Al-Shatti, in the motivational programs category; “Morning Flowers,” a children’s program prepared and presented by Fatima Al-Qallaf and directed by Mustafa Abdul-Samad; “A Home That Produces Hope,” a program on family economics and productive families, prepared by Ibrahim Matqi with a cast of actors and directed by Waleed Sarab; “Step by Step,” a sports program prepared and presented by Dunia Al-Amir and directed by Mahmoud Bahbahani; the historical drama series “A Voice from the Sky,” written by Dr. Yousef Al-Sarie with a cast of actors and directed by Jaber Al-Jasser; “Halfway There,” a documentary program on addiction and recovery, prepared and presented by Ibrahim Matqi and directed by Faisal Al-Dhafiri; and two programs in the special competition of the Union of Arab Radio and Television Stations: “Kazima Al-Buhur,” written and directed by Dr. Yousef Al-Sarie, and “Sibawayh of Kuwait: Dr. Khalid Abdul-Karim,” directed by Mohammed Jamal Al-Shatti and written by Dr. Yousef Al-Sarie.

The opening ceremony of the 26th Arab Radio and Television Festival will be enlivened by singers Nassif Zaitoun and Rahma Riad on the stage of the Carthage Amphitheatre, attended by 500 participants from various Arab countries. Festival activities will be distributed between Tunis and Hammamet, including an exhibition of technology and equipment, a market for program production, and a series of seminars and workshops discussing developments in the media sector and the transformations it is undergoing in the digital age.

The closing ceremony, to be held at the Opera of Tunisia, will feature the exclusive world premiere of “Travel to You and Sing” by Tunisian composer Karim Thlibi, a musical journey that evokes the muwal, considered one of the elements of Arabic music.
