The Retail Banking Division of Kuwait International Bank (KIB) achieved a series of tangible accomplishments during the first half of 2026, a move that underscores the bank’s steadfast commitment to keeping pace with digital transformation and intensifying its investments in infrastructure development, thereby enhancing its customer-centric service ecosystem.
These successes are the result of the bank’s implementation of the latest global standards in banking product innovation and its rapid response to market demands and emerging technological developments. The division launched a suite of new services and enhanced the efficiency of its digital channels, offering customers integrated financial solutions characterized by speed, ease, and convenience in account management. This step reinforces KIB’s position among the leading banking institutions in Kuwait and reflects its continuous dedication to delivering an innovative banking experience that redefines customer service and elevates customer expectations.
Commenting on these achievements, Nawaf Al-Kharif, Deputy General Manager of Retail Banking at KIB, affirmed the bank’s commitment to continuing investments in developing its digital capabilities and advancing the integration of technological solutions into its operational infrastructure, aligning with the rapid transformations reshaping the banking industry.
Al-Kharif added that customer insights, alongside the results of periodic analytical studies conducted by the sector regarding market conditions, form the cornerstone for designing and developing product and service portfolios. He noted that through its precise reading of banking sector trends and direct monitoring of the needs of various customer segments, the bank continues to innovate high-quality solutions that enhance customer value and enrich their overall banking experience.
During the first half of 2026, the number of bank accounts opened via the “KIB Mobile” app doubled compared to the same period in 2025. Similarly, investment deposit transactions completed through the app saw a twofold increase, a trend reflecting growing customer confidence in the bank’s digital solutions and demonstrating the success of recently launched innovative features.
The Retail Banking Division worked on developing the app’s digital infrastructure and expanding its available services. It introduced an instant credit card issuance feature against cash collateral, made app navigation clearer and easier for customers, and improved and simplified the steps for account opening and new customer onboarding. Additionally, features within the “WAGE” app, designed for the workforce segment, were updated.
Financial transfer activity through the bank accelerated notably during this period. The “Wamda” service accounted for the largest share, processing over 660,000 transactions. Total Western Union transactions amounted to approximately 107,000 Kuwaiti dinars, while the value of transfers via the “Fast Transfer” service reached 789,000 dinars.
In line with its efforts to make banking services accessible to a broader range of customers across all segments, KIB expanded its ATM network nationwide. The number of ATMs reached 141 during the first half of 2026, up from 125 during the same period in 2025.
During the first half of this year, the KIB ATM network recorded its highest-ever transaction value, with cash withdrawals totaling 65 million Kuwaiti dinars and total deposits reaching 23 million dinars. This record performance highlights the growing importance of the bank’s self-service infrastructure in providing customers with easy and convenient access to conduct their core banking transactions across Kuwait.
KIB continued to focus on providing support and rapid response through various communication platforms. The bank’s call center received approximately 152,000 calls during the first half of the year, averaging around 25,000 calls per month. Interactions via the dedicated voice service totaled 15,000, while Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) video calls reached approximately 13,500, reflecting the efficiency and speed of these services.
