The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour calls on cooperatives to provide it with updated data on contracts for buildings and lands belonging to them
The Ministry of Social Affairs has requested that cooperative societies urgently provide it with updated data on state property contracts pertaining to their buildings and lands, as part of an effort to inventory and organize data on sites belonging to the cooperative sector.
In accordance with directives from the Ministry, the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies issued a letter to the chairs of the boards of directors of the societies, emphasizing the necessity of providing the Ministry with all state property contracts related to the buildings and lands owned by each cooperative society.
The Union called on the executive bodies of the societies to prepare an updated table including the name of the society, the area, the contract number, the plot number, the automatic address number, as well as data on the occupant, including their name and civil ID number. The table must also specify the type of activity and the status of the site, whether occupied or unoccupied.
It stressed the importance of submitting the required data to the Cooperation Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs, in order to ensure the implementation of ministerial instructions and to complete the data related to state properties belonging to the cooperative societies.
On another note, the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies emphasized that all societies must comply with replacing car canopies in accordance with unified engineering and technical specifications, in implementation of directives from the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The Union clarified that the directives require the implementation of a project to unify the specifications and designs of car canopies in public facilities, with the aim of enhancing Kuwait’s urban character and achieving visual harmony across all public facilities.
It stressed the necessity for the executive bodies of the societies to review the Ministry of Social Affairs’ instructions and comply with replacing car canopies in accordance with the unified regulatory guide.
It noted that the dimensions and technical and engineering specifications of the canopies must match the sample implemented on-site in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer area, plot (7), at the parking areas of the Central Market, with the contractor and the consulting office held responsible for ensuring the quality of the work and applying safety and security requirements.
The Union affirmed its commitment to implementing ministerial decisions and instructions, calling on the societies to adhere to the approved specifications when carrying out the replacement of car canopies.
