Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have affirmed the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of agriculture and food security, as well as supporting investment opportunities, within the framework of the established bilateral relations between the two countries. Both sides reiterated their desire to increase trade exchanges in a manner that serves their shared interests.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that this came during the official visit of Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. The visit aimed to explore ways to cooperate in agriculture and food security, improve the efficiency of irrigation and water systems, and support investment opportunities, thereby contributing to the growth of trade between the two nations.

During the visit, Al-Fadli met with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting reviewed areas of cooperation between the two countries in agriculture and food security, ways to strengthen them, and the increase of investments in their diverse sectors. These efforts are intended to broaden the economic partnership between the two countries and support promising investment opportunities in the agriculture and food security sectors.

Al-Fadli also witnessed the presentation of the strategic plan for agriculture and food between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, with the participation of the Ministers of Food Security and National Research, the Minister of Commerce, and representatives of provincial governments in Pakistan. Additionally, he attended the Saudi-Pakistani agricultural business meeting, which was attended by the Ministers of Finance and Commerce, as well as representatives from the private sector, to discuss ways to enhance investment partnerships in the agriculture and food sectors.
