Local Affairs: Launch of the 30th Wave to Remove Encroachments on State Properties and Lands

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment, announced the launch of the implementation of Wave 30 of the campaign to remove encroachments and violations on state lands and properties, carried out in three phases from August 29 to November 20 next year, in coordination with the Committee for the Recovery of State Lands, chaired by Major General Osama Askar, advisor to the President of the Republic for military affairs.

In this context, the Ministry of Local Development and Environment hosted a meeting on the preparation and readiness to commence Wave 30, chaired by Dr. Saied Helmy Abdel Khalek, Head of the Sector for Integrated Local Planning and Development.

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment, emphasized the need for full coordination between governorates and security directorates prior to launching the targets of Wave 30. She highlighted the importance of daily monitoring through the Ministry’s Control Center for the National Network of Emergency and Public Safety, linking operations rooms in the governorates to ensure real-time tracking of demolition activities and immediate response to any new encroachments at their inception. She stressed the state’s continued firm stance against illegal construction, and its refusal to allow encroachments to recur, given that they represent a waste of state rights and a direct threat to agricultural land.
